Ghost Development

Ghost Development is a participatory lecture-performance that calls upon sugar cubes, Utopian architecture, gif animation,  miniature objects, and interpretive cooking  to negotiate my personal relationship — that of an artist that lives in LA but was born in the former Soviet Union — to the symbolic values of Moscow and LA as centers of  image production.

Using the Soviet-made and banned film New Moscow (1938) as a point of departure, a geography of language and image is constructed through projection; the microcosm of desires and hopes is cooked and eaten by the audience at the end of the performance.
